I love photos, especially family photos. I am probably one of those parents you see at the playground taking a million pictures of their kid with their phone and you think to yourself “why can’t they just enjoy the moment?” But I can’t help myself, to me Elsie is the most adorable thing on the planet and I want to preserve and remember all of her adorable moments forever. But of course with all of the medications and just plain ol’ living expenses it leaves us with very little money to spend on something like professional pictures. They’re awesome to have and treasure but not high on our list of expense priorities. So I was super excited when I heard about The Tiny Light Foundation, a charity that provides professional photography for children and families that have been faced with a life-altering diagnosis.
Immediately I checked out their website, read some of their Tiny Light Stories and felt an instant connection to all of the families that have been given such precious memories (warning some of the stories are truly heartbreaking). It’s absolutely amazing when a group of people get together and decide to give to others, just because they can. So I sent in an application hoping we might be so lucky as to be a part of this generous opportunity and we were accepted! I received an email letting me know of our acceptance and that they would be pairing us with a local photographer shortly.
We were paired with Mercedes Leung Photography and when I learned that she was also a mother I knew we would be in good hands. We’re so happy with the beautiful pictures we’ve received and I wanted to share some of them with you all. Thank you so much to Mercedes Leung and the Tiny Light Foundation for your time and generosity, the world is a better place because you are in it 🙂
